Sylvia Reis

Sylvia Lou Arden Reis, 74, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at her daughter’s home after a long illness. The Ironton native was the daughter of the late Clyde and Virginia Arden. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Reis Leonardson, of Marietta, Ga.

Mrs. Reis attended Black Fork High School and Ironton High School. She retired from Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, after a long career in healthcare administration. She was of the Baptist faith, and a member of First Baptist Church in Ironton. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, family reunions and playing cards.

In addition to her husband, Lester Reis, she was preceded in death by her son, Arden Lester Reis and her granddaughter, Deena Leonardson Stone.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Reis Leonardson and Royce of Marietta, Ga.; grandsons, Justin Henry and Christopher Stone of Marietta; great granddaughter, Reece Morgan Stone of Marietta; brothers, Jim Arden and Redgie Arden and his wife, Teresa; sisters-in-law, Linda Arden and Sally Arden; brother-in-law, Bill Reis and his wife, Malinda, of Ironton; sister-in-law, Lorene Pearson of Missouri City, Texas; nephews, Rick Pearson and his wife, Joanne, Matthew Arden and Redgie Arden, Jr.; nieces: Darlene Siemienski and husband, Frank, Jan Clark and husband, Butch, Judy Johnson, Jami Arden Brown and husband, Andrew, Jessica Arden and Ambria Arden; and many loving great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Sylvia’s life will be held on Thursday with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Ironton with Rev. Dennis Strawn, Rev. Andrew Brown and Rev. Mike White officiating. A private burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.

 

Lynda Skeins

Lynda Lou Skeins, 71, of Chesapeake, died Friday, March 30, 2012, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home.
