Bobcats roll past Western

FRANKLIN FURNACE — The Green Bobcats are right in step.

The Bobcats continued to work together as a team with a 13-3 five-inning win over the Western Indians on Thursday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“Again it was a good, total team effort. We’re starting to get our stride,” said Green coach Dan McDavid.

Cody Bruce was in stride on the mound with a four-hitter. He struck out six and walked three.

Colton Brammer went 3-3 with four runs batted in to lead a 13-hit assault. Caleb Johnson was 2-2 and Clay Applegate 2-4 with two RBI.

Green (5-3, 4-1) erupted for 10 runs in the first inning.

Mike Avery doubled and Applegate singled him home. Rob Applegate walked and Brammer had a two-run single. Steve Ratcliff doubledfor a run, Matt Howard reached on an error as a run scored and Johnson doubled in a run.

Avery walked, Clay Applegate was safe on an error for a run, Rob Applegate walked and Bruce was hit by a pitch for an RBI and Brammer capped the rally with a two-run single.

Two runs scored in the fourth when Johnson, Avery, Clay Applegate and Rob Applegate all singled for a run and Andrew Otworth walked to force in a run.

The final run scored in the bottom of the fifth when Kyle Schwab walked, moved up on a pass ball and scored on a walk-off single by Chris Allen.
