Thomas Jordan

Thomas Reginald Jordan Jr., 56, beloved husband, father, son, brother and uncle, triumphed over his brain tumor when he was called home to heaven Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Tom passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. Funeral is at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Chapel, Fort Worth, Texas. Interment is at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Tom was born Oct. 28, 1955, in Ironton. He joined the U.S. Army at age 16 and upon his return from deployment to Germany, he met the love of his life, Jo. They married Feb. 24, 1979, and had two children, for whom he strove to ensure their lives were full of love, happiness and success. He was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in 2002, but to the amazement of all who knew him, he thrived for nine years through faith and an unstoppable positive attitude. He was thankful for the privilege of waking up every day and taught his family to do the same.

Survivors are his wife, Jo Jordan; son, Dr. Justin Jordan and wife, Darrah; daughter, Mallory Jordan; mother, Laura “Sally” Jordan of Amesville, Ohio; sisters, Pamela Hatfield and husband, David, of Amesville, Ohio, and Nancy Bishop and husband, Ray, of Mendenhall, Miss.; brothers, William “Bill” Jordan and wife, Susan, of Ironton and Shane Jordan and wife, Kelli, of Albany, Ohio; 18 nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and great-nephews; countless friends and extended family whom he loved dearly. Greenwood Funeral Home, Fort Worth, Texas is in charge of arrangements.

 

Sandra Ford

Sandra Lutz Ford, 56, of Ironton, was called home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 30, 2012, from the Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital with her husband, Coss (Dickie) Ford III, by her side.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Quinn chapel AME Church in Ironton with the Rev. James Stowe officiating. Keeping with her wishes she was cremated. Memorial donations should be made to her husband to help with expenses. Her husband has entrusted her care to Brown Funeral Chapel.
