Lady ’Cats rip New Boston; Lady Vikings fall

NEW BOSTON — The Green Lady Bobcats and their bats made a real connection.

The Lady Bobcats connected 16 times for hits en route to a 19-0 rout of the New Boston Lady Tigers on Wednesday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

Jenna Crawford and Erin Imes went 3-5 to lead Green (6-5). Imes also had a double.

Devon Johnson was 3-4 while Micah Lewis and Kayla McCallister each went 2-4.

Lewis had a two-run single in the first inning to start the scoring. Green scored 13 runs in the fifth on two walks, two hit batsmen, four errors, two singled by Crawford and additional singles by Lewis, Johnson, Pernia Fisher and Krashawna Jones.

Crawford gave up just three hits, struck out four and walked one to pick up the win.

Green visits Ironton on Thursday.

Sciotoville East 13, Symmes Valley 6

AID — This was no walk through the park.

Symmes Valley pitchers combined to walk 10 batters with seven scoring as the Lady Vikings lost 13-6 to the Sciotoville East Lady Tartans on Wednesday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“We played pretty good other than the one inning. We hit the ball, we just walked too many,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Jeff “Odie” Estep.

Symmes Valley (5-7, 3-4) had 10 hits led by Katie Hill who was 3-4. Cheianne Hivley was 2-3.

The game was tied 4-4 after four innings, but East got four runs in the fifth and five in the sixth to open the game up.

The Lady Vikings host Portsmouth Notre Dame on Thursday.
