Brian Sherman

Brian David Sherman, 38, of Coal Grove, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Ironton native was born Nov. 15, 1973, a son to the late James Paul and Leah Carolyn (Brammer) Sherman.  Brian was a 1993 graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School.  Brian worked as a construction worker for L.B.F. Inc. He was a member of Coal Grove Volunteer Fire Department for more than 17 years. Brian will be best remembered for his bright personality, love for his community and willingness to help others.

Brian is survived by one son, Brandon Michael Sherman of Columbus; one daughter, Skylar Dani Sherman of Ironton; four brothers, James M. (Susie) Sherman of Ashland, Ky., Donald A. Sherman of Coal Grove, Gary D. (Debi) Sherman, and Jay (Jeanie) Sherman all of Coal Grove; three sisters, Kay (Steve) Davidson, Leah (Chris) Harmon, and Tami (David) Skaggs all of Coal Grove; special uncle, Dean Hunter of Wheelersburg; special aunt, Diane Miller of Coal Grove; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by a sister, Jody Lynn Sherman Roach.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Tracy Brammer – Monroe Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Carey and Dr. Steve Ruby officiating.  Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Roger McDavid

Roger McDavid, 57, of Grayson, Ky., died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Kings Daughters Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Bill Bush officiating.  Burial will follow in the Veterans Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 -9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Military rites will be performed by East Carter ROTC.

Nancy Huff, 77, of Ironton, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.

 

Stuart Myhrwold

Stuart George Myhrwold, 81, of Huntington, W.Va., died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the Heritage Center. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Abbey of Remembrance Museum, Woodmere Memorial Park with the Rev. Keith Creasy officiating. Visitation will be 10:30-11 a.m. at the mausoleum. Lt. Col. James Bourne

Lt. Col James O. “Jiggs” Bourne, U.S.A.F. (retired), 86, of New Orleans, La., formerly of Ironton, Ohio, died Monday, April 16, 2012, in New Orleans. Arrangements are pending in Louisiana.

 

Paul Burd

Paul Burd, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at his residence. He was the husband of Brenda Burd, who survives. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.
