SOUTH POINT — The Fairland Dragons were on track for a first place showdown against Rock Hill in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Jesse Lien and Brandon “Beefy” Boggs each went 3-3 to lead a 10-hit attack. Browning was 2-3 and Trey Kearns doubled.

The Pointers got a run in the first inning when Alex Whitt reached on a fielder’s choice, stole second and scored on Boggs’ base hit.

South Point made it 5-0 in the fourth inning.

Boggs and Browning singled and Patrick Jones reached on an error as a run scored. Kearns drilled a two-run double and Lien singled in Kearns.

The Pointers ended the game early with a five-run fifth inning.

Whitt was hit by a pitch and Boggs, Browning and Jones all singled. Anthony Fox reached and stole second and third and scored on a passed ball to end the game.
