LATHAM — The Green Lady Bobcats couldn’t keep it together, but the Western Lady Indians could.

Western bunched its nine hits and beat the Lady Bobcats 8-3 on Monday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“They put their hits together and we didn’t hit with runners in scoring position,” said Green coach Dale Royse.

Green (8-12, 5-5) had just five hits with Kayla McCallister going 2-4 but was unable to capitalize on seven walks.

Western took a 1-0 lead in the second but Green grabbed the lead with two runs in the top of the third.

Sammi Crisp and Jenna Crawford walked, Erin Imes hit into a fielder’s choice and McCallister had a two-run single.

The Indians got two runs back in the bottom of the inning and Green tied the game with a run in the fourth.

Kaitlin Hodson was hit by a pitch, went to second on a passed ball and scored on Crawford’s base hit.

But Western got two runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth.
