Vikings rout Western, New Boston in SOC games

AID — Two up, two down.

The Symmes Valley Vikings spent Monday and Wednesday playing Southern Ohio Conference games against the Western Indians and New Boston Tigers and they spent their time well with a pair of wins.

The Vikings routed Western 21-1 in five innings on Monday and came back to win 14-0 over New Boston on Wednesday.

Mitchell Corn and Cody Myers teamed up to throw a four-hitter against Western.

The Vikings pounded out 19 hits as 11 different players got hits. Tanner Mays, L and Wilson and Jacob Easthom were 2-2, Cody Myers 3-4 and Alec Herrell and Scott Dial 2-4.

Against New Boston, Michael Williams pitched a one-hitter, struck out 10 and walked just one to get the win.

“Michael threw really well and defensively we played pretty good,” said Vikings’ coach Chad Renfroe.

Symmes Valley had 13 hits as Garrett Foster and Dylan Pelletier went 2-4 and Scott Dial 2-5.

The Vikings visit Sciotoville East on Thursday.
