Ben Edward Fitts

Ben Edward Fitts, 75, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born May 6, 1937, the son of the late Palmer Benjamin and Margaret Gruber Fitts. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dona Sue Litle Fitts. Ben was a 1955 graduate of Ironton High School and was a former yard master for the CSX Railroad, retiring after 42 years of service. He was a member of Central Christian Church in Ironton. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Benny Fitts of Ironton; daughter, Cyndi Fitts, of South Point; a sister and brother in law, Henrietta and Jerry Hankins, of Ironton; granddaughter, Casey and Tony Bell, of South Point; three great grandchildren, Marlie, Anthony and Tawny, all of South Point; and his beloved dog, Harley. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Central Christian Church with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Ronald C. Jones

Ronald Coleman Jones, 71, of Haverhill, formerly of Raceland, Ky., went to be with the lord Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Mr. Jones was born March 23, 1941, in Huntington, W.Va. a son of the late Coleman B. and Geneva Ellen Brammer Jones. He was a 1959 graduate of Raceland High School. He was a member of the Greenup Old Tractors, Engines and Machinery Club. He loved to work on old tractors and restored an international tractor. He attended Greenup First Baptist Church. Ronald loved the Lord. He was preceded in death by one sister, Louella Paul; one son, Leland Jones. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Betty Doris Middleton Jones; two sons, Loren Jones, of Bidwell, Michael Jones, of Lawrence County; one daughter, Rhonda Jones, of Lawrence County; two step daughters, Karen Tony, of Crossville, Tenn., Ramona King, of Ironton; five step grandchildren; and four special friends, Jack and Pam Kidd, of Pedro, Bob and Brenda Phelps, Wurtland, Ky. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Ky., by Dr. Tom Melvin. Burial will be in the Haverhill Cemetery in Haverhill. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday and one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Maxine Mullins

Maxine Mullins, 79, of Grayson died Thursday May 10, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Sparks Funeral Home with Tom Riffe and Susan Elkow officiating.
