Linda Dodson

Linda Sue Fyffe Dodson, 64, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012, at her residence. The Lawrence County native was born Nov. 27, 1947, the daughter of the late Ray and Mabel Murnahan Fyffe. She is survived by her husband, Douglas Anthony Dodson, whom she married Nov. 29, 1966. Mrs. Dodson was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and was a homemaker. She also enjoyed volunteering at Lawrence County General Hospital and Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. She was the “lunch lady” for St. Lawrence Elementary, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Moose Lodge. She was of the Nazarene faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dallas Fyffe and Bob Fyffe; two sisters, Wilma Fyffe and Joann Fyffe. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Tina and Danny Newcomb of Ironton, Tiffinia Moore of Gallipolis and Keeli and Mark McCallister of Lexington, Ky.; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Judy Dodson of Ironton; 11 grandchildren, Brandon Moore, Mikaela Moore, both of Gallipolis, Morgan Dodson of Ironton, Justin McCallister and his wife, Maria of Richmond, Ky., Cara McCallister of Columbus, Andrea McCallister of Lexington, Ky., Danny Newcomb and his wife, Sarah of South Point, Jason Newcomb and his wife, Marina of Lancaster, Pa., Jennifer Brown and her husband, Scott of Waterloo, Jessica Newcomb-Preston of South Point, and William Newcomb of Gallipolis; and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Cline McCallister officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Juanita Bentley

Juanita Bentley, 76, of Ashland, Ky., passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012, following an extended illness. Juanita was born Feb. 14, 1936, in Ironton to the late Harry and Della Imes Slaughter. She was the owner of Bentley Apartments & Properties and was a member of Coal Grove Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Bentley, and two brothers, Harry Slaughter, Jr. and Marion Slaughter.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Bentley and his wife Jessica, of Ashland and Stephen Bentley and his wife Stephanie, of Ashland; a daughter, Vicki Allen and her husband Jeffrey, of Merritt Island, Fla.; four grandchildren, Victoria Allen, Christina Meade, Sarah Bentley and Nevaeh Bentley; and one great-grandchild, Bentley Meade, and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Coal Grove Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Jeff Canfield. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Ironton. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Friday at Caniff Funeral Home in Ashland.
