Woodland Cemetery could make exceptions for holidays

Once again, Memorial Day is upon us. Among the celebrations, decorating graves of our fallen loved ones is a time honored tradition in this area.

I would like to see Woodland Cemetery allow arrangements to be placed on the ground in front of the markers and headstones for a limited amount of time during this holiday (and every holiday).

This tradition means so very much to a large group of people and this tradition has been nixed by the cemetery caretaker. I realize the burden of removing these adornments to do the mowing.

However, to do so four or five times a year — probably less due to winter holidays — doesn’t seem too much to ask.

Please allow families and friends to place their tributes on their loved ones graves to express their remembrances.

This allowance would be widely appreciated. Thanks you for your consideration.
