CAO begins summer cooling assistance

The Ironton-Lawrence County Community Action Organization will begin its Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program June 1.
Assistance is available for those individuals with a documented medical condition, households that have received a disconnect notice and seniors 60 years of age or older. Incomes that are at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may be eligible if they meet one of the aforementioned categories.
To be eligible, a one-person household must have a total annual income of no more than $22,340; a two-person household must have a total annual income of no more than $30,360; a three person household must have a total annual income of no more than $38,180 and a four-person household must have a total annual income of no more than $46,100.The program will continue through Aug. 31.
