Ernestine Hunley

Ernestine Hunley, 79, of Coal Grove, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012, at her residence. The Lawrence County native was born Jan. 23, 1933, the daughter of the late James and Bernice Legg Arthur. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Adam Hunley, who died Feb. 10, 2010.

Mrs. Hunley attended Dawson Bryant High School, was a homemaker and attended the Church of God.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George Anderson, Raymond Arthur and Charles Arthur and a sister, Leona Gilliland.

She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Alice and Rodney Hitchcock of Coal Grove and Janice and Donald Leibee of Ironton and Carolyn Hunley of Coal Grove; a brother and a sister-in-law, Eugene and Nell Arthur of Ironton; two grandchildren, Jesse Hitchcock and Elizabeth Leibee; a sister-in-law, Pat Arthur and a special nephew, Larry Workman and his wife, Patty and daughter, Heather.

Special thanks to her caregivers who loved her as if she was their own, Angie Bowman, Connie Lambert and Ashley Thacker.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Woodland Cemetery with the Rev. Calvin Ray Evans officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

John Dillon

John F. “Mack” Dillon, 81, of Huntington, W.Va., died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was the husband of Adra Cremeans Dillon, who survives. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio, by Pastor Glen Robinson and Danny Hodges. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Elizabeth Cook

Elizabeth Ava Cook, 81, of Crown City, Ohio died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at home. She was the wife of John “Jack” B. Cook who survives. There will be no services. Harry Progler

Harry S. Progler III, 87, of Vancouver, Washington, formerly of Ironton, Ohio, died Thursday, May 27, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of Margie Lucas Progler, who survives. Memorial services will be Tuesday in Vancouver.

 

Harry Marcum

Harry Marcum, 61, of South Point, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the V. A. Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. He was the husband of J0 Ann Marcum, who survives.
