Carolyn Zirkle

Carolyn Sue Zirkle, 70, of South Point, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 19, 2012, from St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. Carolyn was born Oct. 4, 1941, in Cabell County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Norma Christine Swann Ellis. She was a member of Tri-State Baptist Temple in South Point, where she was faithful and dedicated in keeping everything clean and was also an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death in 2004 by her husband, Clifton D. Zirkle; her beloved aunt, Mary Jean “Sug” Clagg; two aunts; and three uncles. Carolyn is survived by her sister, Bonnie Sue Houchin; two uncles and their spouses, James and Joan Swann and Orman and Barbara Swann; three aunts, Evelyn Kearns, Lucille Swann, and Nancy Swann; numerous loving cousins; and a host of family, church family, and friends.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. today at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Jenkins officiating. Private burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Bernard Lewis Hamlin Jr., 71, of South Point, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
