At approximately 10:42 p.m. Friday, employees at the gas station told police a white male armed with a pool stick entered the store and demanded money from the cashiers. According to report, the cashiers complied and the suspect fled on foot from the store with an undetermined amount of money. No employees were injured during the incident.

Ironton Police Capt., Det. Chris Bowman said witnesses provided a “very good description of the suspects and the type of vehicle used in the robbery. Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle a short time later in the 1500 block of South Fourth Street.

“A subsequent investigation began, and we were able to link the owner of the vehicle to the robbery; several key pieces of evidence were recovered from the suspect’s vehicle, residence, and surrounding area including the cash taken during the robbery,” Bowman said in his prepared statement.

Adkins was taken to the Lawrence County Jail. He is scheduled for arraignment today in Ironton Municipal Court.
