St. Joseph sets physicals,

mandatory meeting

St. Joseph High School and Junior High School athletic physicals will be given Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Vitality Center at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

Grades 7-9 will be from 8-to-10 a.m. and gaves 10-12 from 10 a.m. to noon.

All athletes should have an OHSAA form with them and the necessary information completed that is needed prior to the physical. Forms can be obtained at the school or by downloading a form at the OHSAA site under Sports Medicine tab.

There is no charge at this time, but athletes missing this opportunity must arrange their own physical.

Also, there will be a parents meeting for fall sports on Monday, Aug. 6, in the St. Joseph Church undercroft.

This is a mandatory meeting required by the OHSAA. New coaches for falls sports will be introduced at this time.

 

 

 

Ironton football meeting

for grades 7-8-9 planned

There will be a meeting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, at Tanks Memorial Stadium for any boys in grades 7-8-9 interested in playing football this fall.

Ironton youth football

registration Saturday

The Ironton Recreation Department will conduct youth football registrations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Ironton City Center.

The C league is for grades one and two, B league for grades three and four, and A league for grades five and six.

Kindergarten plays flag football only. First grade youths have the option of football with pads or flag football.

Fee is $20 each and $10 for each additional sibling in A through C leagues. Flag football fee is $10.

SV youth football camp,

registrations planned

The Symmes Valley youth football league will conduct player and cheerleader regisrations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the high school.

Youths in grades 5-6 will play for the A-team, grades 3-4 the B-team and grades 1-2 the C-team.

Fee is $30 for the first child, $20 fro the second, $10 for the third and the fourth child is free.

A football camp will be held from 6-8 p.m. July 23-27 at the field and final registrations will be held at this time.

The Rock Hill Middle School football camp will be held from 6-8 p.m. on July 16-19 at the high school football field.

Faith & Fitness run/walk

scheduled for July 21

The second annual Faith & Fitness 5K run/walk will be held Saturday, July 21, at First Baptist Church in Ironton.

Registration fee is $15 by July 11 and $20 the day of the race. Registration the day of the race is 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. Race starts at 8.

Checks can be made payable to FBC Faith and Fitness Center. Fees are non-refundable.

St. Joseph High School and Junior High soccer conditioning will be held from 8-to-9:30 a.m. through Friday at Clouston Field on Lawrence Street Road.

The annual soccer camp for players will be held July 23-27. Fee is $60. Times will be announced as soon as plans are finalized.

Ironton youth soccer

league sets registration

The Ironton Area Youth Soccer Association registrations forms for the fall season are available at Bob Linn Sporting Goods at 212 N. 2nd Street in Ironton until July 21.

The league is for youths ages 4 to 12 with birthdays between Aug. 1, 2000, to July 31, 2008. Fee is $20 per youth and $15 for each additional sibling. There will be a $5 late fee assessed per player after July 14.

Teams will be for under 6 and through 12 for boys and girls.

 

 

2nd Annual Flyer 5K Run

scheduled for Aug. 25

The second annual Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital and Ironton Catholic Schools’ Flyer 5K race will be held Saturday, Aug. 25, at St. Joseph High School.

Fee is $15 before Aug. 19 and $20 after and on race day. Registration on race day is from 7-7:45 a.m. Race begins at 8.

There are 15 age divisions for males and females. Top three finishers in each division and overall will be given awards. Moisture wicking T-shirts guaranteed to first 300 runners.
