St. Joseph sets physicals,

mandatory meeting

St. Joseph High School and Junior High School athletic physicals will be given Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Vitality Center at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

Grades 7-9 will be from 8-to-10 a.m. and gaves 10-12 from 10 a.m. to noon.

All athletes should have an OHSAA form with them and the necessary information completed that is needed prior to the physical. Forms can be obtained at the school or by downloading a form at the OHSAA site under Sports Medicine tab.

There is no charge at this time, but athletes missing this opportunity must arrange their own physical.

Also, there will be a parents meeting for fall sports on Monday, Aug. 6, in the St. Joseph Church undercroft.

This is a mandatory meeting required by the OHSAA. New coaches for falls sports will be introduced at this time.

 

 

CGLL cheerleaders

fundraiser set Friday

The Coal Grove Little League cheerleaders will sponsor a family fun fundraiser from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the practice field beside the Coal Grove School Board Office (old junior high school).

There will be a corn hole tournament open to all ages for $20 per person in the 16-and-older division and $10 per person in the 15-and-under division. Cash and prizes will be awarded. Registration begins at 5 p.m. on Friday but a discounted registration will be held form 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Paul Porter Park.

Inflatables will be available for youngsters with the purchase of a $5 hand stamp.

Music will be provided by a local deejay.

In the case of rain, the event will be moved into the Coal Grove Junior High gymnasium.

 

 

2nd Annual Flyer 5K Run

scheduled for Aug. 25

The second annual Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital and Ironton Catholic Schools’ Flyer 5K race will be held Saturday, Aug. 25, at St. Joseph High School.

Fee is $15 before Aug. 19 and $20 after and on race day. Registration on race day is from 7-7:45 a.m. Race begins at 8.

There are 15 age divisions for males and females. Top three finishers in each division and overall will be given awards. Moisture wicking T-shirts guaranteed to first 300 runners.
