PINE GROVE — The Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association of the Ironton Country Club has made a lot of golf this summer and it appears there is plenty more to be played.

Last week’s hostess was Sharon Fox who provided refreshments and paired golfers for the events. Cecilia Woods won two events along with Barb Holmes.

Two weeks ago Pat Riggs served as hostess and announced Joyce Lewis as a weekly winner and also named herself as a double winner.

Riggs told the group that the first annual 9-Hole Ladies Classic Tournament will be held in August on the regular play day.

All current members will be participating in the tournament and they include: Rose Auble, Judy Brose, Becky Dillow, Jamie Dyer, Joyce Fields, Sharon Fox, Betty Fraley, Barbara Holmes, Johnna Jones, Pat Lambert, Joyce Lewis, Nancy Livingston, Jane Mains, Pat Riggs, Wanda Spears, Georgia Willis, Cecilia Woods and Shirley Gleim.

This week’s hostess will be Holmes and new members are always welcome. A meeting is held at 9 a.m. with golf scheduled to begin at 9:30.

According to a source within the Ladies Nine Hole League, one member said she visited a local chiropractor who assured her she would now be able to get more birdies and pars. She reported that her treatment appears to be working. The source has chosen to remain anonymous.
