Carrie Coenen

Carrie A. Coenen, 43, of Rogers, Ark., passed from this life on July 31, 2012. She was born in Ironton, Ohio, on Nov. 18, 1968.

Carrie graduated Missouri Southern State College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and was a registered nurse at St. John’s in Joplin, Mo., and at St. Mary’s/Mercy in Rogers. She was a former member of Fellowship Bible Church and a member of Central United Methodist Church in Rogers.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Don Coenen; sons, Pierce and Max Coenen of the home; parents, Tim McClellan of Louisville, Ky., and Arlene McClellan of Ironton, Ohio; brother, Sean McClellan and Sarah McHale of Rogers; sister, Tracy Duvall, husband Gerald and their four sons, of Marshall, Texas.

A celebration of Carrie’s was on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers, officiated by her friend, the Rev. Pamela Cicioni, and the Rev. Dawn Spragg of the church.

Herschel Rice

Herschel “Sonny” Edward Rice, 77, of Raceland, Ky., died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carman Funeral Home, Flatwoods, Ky., with the Rev. Paul Neal and the Rev. Bob Copley. Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East. Military Honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 8850 of Ironton. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
