HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Union workers at Special Metals Corp.’s alloy plant in Huntington have a new contract.

Media outlets say members of United Steelworkers Local 40 ratified the three-year contract Monday afternoon. Union members had been working under an extension of the old contract, which expired at midnight Aug. 10.

Union representative Buddy McCallister says the contract is good for the workers, the plant and Huntington.

The union represents about 400 workers at the plant.
