Kathryn Hutchinson

Kathryn Delores Rogers Hutchinson went home to Heaven on Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, from the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

The Denton, Ky., native was born March 11, 1932, to the late Horton and Connie Cunningham Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard “Pat” Hutchinson whom she married on June 4, 1949.

Kathryn graduated from Decatur-Washington High School and was a homemaker and caregiver all her life. She was an artist with a crochet needle and was blessed with the gift of hospitality; always ready to prepare a meal and share all she had. She was a member of the Lost Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Carter County, Ky.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jayden Lewis; a son-in-law, Larry Baker; three sisters, Charline Phillips, Edith Roe and Lexi Bellew, and eight brothers, Harold “Doc” Rogers, Joe Rogers, Sherman Rogers, Lawrence Rogers, Curtis Rogers, Hollie Rogers, Raymond Rogers and James Rogers.

Kathryn is survived by four children, a daughter, Donna Gail Hutchinson of Ironton, a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Ramona Hutchinson of Pedro, a daughter, Patricia Baker of Pedro and a daughter and her fiance, Pamela Lawson and Joe Jarrells of Franklin Furnace; seven grandchildren, Tonya and Billy Lewis of Pedro, Jessica and James Hall, and Rebecca Hutchinson of Franklin Furnace, Amanda and Jeremy McCleese of Sciotoville, Roger Hutchinson of Chesapeake, Ben and Derricka Hutchinson of Greenup, Ky., and Andrea Hutchinson of Pedro; six great-grandchildren, Hope Lewis, Satine Hutchinson, Alexis and Chase Smith, Duncan McCleese and Willow Hutchinson and a brother, Harold Rogers of Columbus.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrel Fowler and Pastor Brian Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Donations may be made in Kathryn’s name to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave. Ashland, Ky. 41101. William Hayes

William Richard Hayes, 70 of South Point, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Funeral will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Beard Mortuary. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at Beard Mortuary.

 

Gregory Stanley

Gregory Scott Stanley, 49, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at home. Visitation will be held 1- 2 p.m. today at Hall Funeral Home. There will be no traditional funeral services. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

 

Danny Russell

Danny Ray Russell, 44 of Lenoir, N.C., formerly of Ironton, Ohio, passed away Aug. 22, 2012, at his residence. The Ironton native was born Aug. 15, 1968, the son of the late Mary Kathleen Harvey and Danny Gordon Russell of Florida.

Mr. Russell was a 1986 graduate of Russell High School in Russell, Ky., and served in the U.S. Army. He worked many years in the furniture factories in North Carolina.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by son, Danny Ray Russell II; his grandmothers, Lena Shafer Russell and Hilda Harvey; a grandfather Robert Gordon Russell; and an uncle, John L Russell, all of Ironton.

He is survived by two children, Megan and Jonathan Russell of Hudson, N.C.; a brother, Anthony “Tony” Russell and his wife, Gina of Elizabethon Tenn.; a sister, Tracy Russell of Hudson, N.C.; an aunt, Terri L Russell of Hudson, N.C.; two nieces Kendall and Kensington Russell of Tennessee and one nephew, Josiah Bacon.

There will be no services.

 

Dave Ervin

Dave Ervin, 75, of Ironton, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.

Daniel Carter

Daniel Michael Carter, 35, of Proctorville, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of Ashlee Carter, who survives. Marietta Snider

Marietta Snider, 95, of South Point, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home. Richard Beaver

Richard David Beaver, 63, of Columbus, died Sunday, Aug. 19 at Chillicothe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
