Liens lead Pointers to 3-0 win

The South Point Pointers used the scoring of the Lien brothers to get a soccer win over the St. Joseph Flyers on Thursday.

Michael Lien scored two goals and Jesse Lien added another for the Pointers.

South Point took a 1-0 first half lead on a goal by Michael Lien and an assist by Mario Palladino.

Michael Lien scored an unassisted goal at the 50:00 mark in the second half for a 2-0 lead. Jesse Lien scored his own unassisted goal at the 77:00 mark to complete the scoring.

Pointger goalies Alex Whitt and Brady Rickard each had a save. Justin Mahlmeister registered eight saves for St. Joseph.

South Point (5-1-1) plays at 5:30 p.m. next Thursday at Gallipolis.
