Tom Evans Jr.

July 7, 1942-Sept. 24, 2012

Arlie Thomas Evans Jr, 70, of Wheelersburg, passed away Monday Sept. 24, 2012, at home.  Tom was born July 7, 1942, in Ashland, Ky., to the late Arlie Thomas Evans and Florine “Sprouse” Minor.  Tom was a retired maintenance supervisor with AK Steel, a Scioto County 4H adviser and a member of Western Sun Lodge, Scottish Right, El Hasa Shrine and the Scioto County Farm Bureau.  Tom was loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Tom loved his cattle and farming. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Harold Mullens.

He is survived by his wife, Mary “Mullens” Evans, whom he married May 28, 1982, in Clintwood, Va. Also surviving are a son, Arlie Thomas Evans III of North Carolina; two daughters, Tomi Ranae (Nicholas) Eskridge of Wheelersburg, and Jennifer Moorhead of Portsmouth; four brothers, Guy Edward (Theresa) Leake of Arkansas, Frank (Bobbi) Leake of Florida, Raymond (Stephanie) Evans of Cleveland and Ralph (Mary Beth) Evans of Dayton; a sister, Diane (Rick) Holton of Texas; eight grandchildren, Natalee Rae Eskridge, Josh, Emily and Kendal Evans, and Alex, Shannon, Valorie and Rylee Moorhead; stepmother, Eleanor Evans, stepfather, Thomas Leake, and mother-in-law, Nellie Mullens.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. and one hour before the service on Friday. Masonic rites will be conducted at 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

 

Carolyn Sparks

Carolyn Maxine Sparks, 57, of Ironton, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at St Mary’s Medical Center. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.

 

Terry Richendollar

Terry Richendollar, 63, of Vanceburg, Ky., died Tuesday Sept. 25, 2012, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. Arrangements are pending at the Tracy Brammer – Monroe Funeral Home.

 

Anna Moore

Anna Mae Moore, 92, of Proctorville, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, W.Va. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, W.Va. by Pastor Cullen Chesser.  There will be no visitation.  Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
