Conveyance of prohibited items into detention center — Lawrence County Jail, 11:30 a.m. Friday, man allegedly handed pack of cigarettes to an inmate in a cell while he was being booked into jail himself.

Possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia — Indian Guyan Boat Ramp, Chesapeake, 8:32 p.m. Saturday, three suspects parked in car at boat ramp, woman in car allegedly threw a needle with heroin out of the window, K-9 unit found more paraphernalia; Carolyn Newton, 33, of 228 Marcum Terrace, Huntington, W.Va., and Girvis Roberts, 47, of 1500 1/2 Marcum Terrace, Huntington, W.Va., arrested.

Assault — Lawrence County Jail, 6 p.m. Nov. 1, inmate allegedly aggressive with another inmate.

Trafficking in drugs — Collins Career Center, Chesapeake, Friday 11 a.m., two students allegedly dealing drugs (ibuprofen 800 mg) in the restroom, juveniles taken to detention center.

Theft — 100 block Township Road 1334, South Point, Oct. 30, man believes his dog was stolen out of its cage.

Theft by deception — 5900 block County Road 1, South Point, woman alleged local plumber cashed two checks in exchange for repairs to her gas logs, but the work has not been completed due to the company allegedly refusing to do the work or return the money.
