Truman Turner

Truman Donald Turner, Jr., age 76, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012. He was born on Sept. 23, 1936 in Scioto County to the late Truman Roy Turner and Maud (Andre) Turner. Truman was a retired farmer of Waterloo.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janet (Jacobs) Turner. They were married June 10, 1956. He is also survived by his children, Sheryl (Randy) Schar of Ashland, OH, Sue (Ralph) Ingles of Waterloo, Donald Turner and Douglas (Kim) Turner of Waterloo; grandchildren, Phillip (Jill) Schar, David (Liz) Schar, Cassie (Andrew) Stumbo and Joshua Turner; great-grandchild Charlie Schar; sisters, Iona Stansbery, Helen (Leo) VonDerau, Juanita Arnold; sister-in-law, Annabelle Turner; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Clarence Turner and Ralph Turner and sister, Myrtle Oliver.

Truman attended Rehobeth Church in Waterloo and was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Marseilles 515 and Waterloo 532. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother.

A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rehobeth Church in Waterloo with Pastor Henry Hatfield officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church and a Masonic service will be conducted by the Waterloo Lodge 532. Burial will follow at the Rehobeth Cemetery in Lawrence County.

 Robert Van Keuren

Robert T. Van Keuren Jr., 66, of Pedro, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at his residence. The Washington, DC, native was born Nov. 7, 1946, the son of the late Robert T. Van Keuren Sr. and Nancy Kash Van Keuren.

Mr. Van Keuren was a graduate of a Westfield, New Jersey High School and attended the University of Colorado for three years. He was a sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a former radar and electronics specialist while serving in the Air Force. He was of the Protestant faith.

He is survived by a son, Robert T. Van Keuren III of Pedro; a son, Galen Luke Van Keuren of Ashland, Ky.; two sisters, Carol Lynn England of Ocala, Fla., and Donna Claudio of New Jersey; and four grandchildren, Jewelia, Nicholas, Matthew and Heaven.

Jack Blankenship

Jack “Ed” Blankenship, 72, of Richmond Ky., previously, of Flatwoods Ky., died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at University of Kentucky Hospital. John Meade

John Eric Meade, 50, of Huntington, W.Va., died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. There will be private family services. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville.

 

Willa Burcham

Willa Dean Burcham, 79, of Proctorville, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at home. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Steve Rhodes. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio.
