Tulane routs Herd, 91-75; Ohio rolls past Ball State

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Josh Davis recorded his 12th double-double of the season as Tulane snapped a two-game losing streak by beating Marshall 91-75 Wednesday night in a Conference USA contest.

Davis had 23 points and 12 rebounds and was supported by 19 points from Ricky Tarrant and 16 from Kendall Timmons — that duo combined to make 15 free throws in 25 attempts, with Tarrant adding nine assists for the Green Wave (15-8, 3-5).

Jordan Callahan added 12 points on 4-of-4 3-point shooting, and now has 186 3-pointers for his career, seven shy of Jerald Honeycutt for the program record.

Marshall (10-13, 3-5) dropped to 0-8 on the road this season.

DeAndre Kane had a double-double for the Thundering Herd with 14 points and 11 assists — he entered sixth in the NCAA with 7.2 assists per game. Dennis Tinnon added 13 points and 12 rebounds while Elijah Pittman had 23 points.

Ohio 69, Ball State 42

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — Walter Offutt scored 17 points, T.J. Hall added 10 and Ohio rode a dominant first half to a 69-42 victory at Ball State on Wednesday night.

Offutt was 6 of 9 from the field, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range, for the Bobcats (16-6, 7-1 Mid-American), who never trailed, led 34-14 at halftime and stretched their advantage to as many as 29 points in the second half.

Jauwan Scaife scored 18 points for the Cardinals (8-13, 2-7), but no other Ball State player had more than six points. Majok Majok, the MAC’s rebounding leader at 10.4 per game entering play, had nine rebounds but scored just four points. The Cardinals shot just 26.5 percent from the field and now has lost three straight and seven of eight.

The victory was just Ohio’s sixth in 24 games against Ball State in Muncie.
