PINE GROVE — Opening Day for the Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association of the Ironton Country Club was held on a chilly day two weeks ago.

Ladies attending the event enjoyed a social and potluck. Pat Lambert was the hostess for the morning and provided the early refreshments.

The following week the ladies enjoyed a breezy day to meet and play nine holes of golf. A total of 12 members participated with Betty Fraley performing hostess duties and arranging golf partners for the morning events.

Members voted to keep the previous season’s officers. Pat Lambert held the brief meeting with an agenda of new business prior to tee-off.

Following play, Fraley announced the event winners: Cecilia Woods, Becky Fraley, Rose Auble, Pat Riggs, Johnna Jones and Lambert. All the ladies enjoyed conversation and lunch.

Next week’s hostess is Joyce Lewis. New members are welcome to join the group for the 9:30 a.m. meeting followed by golf at 10.
