Ironton In Bloom, Inc. is holding a Mother’s Day Plant Sale as its first major fundraiser this year to pay for the city’s downtown floral display.

The sale will take place Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the corner of Second and Vernon streets near the splash park.

The growers who provide flowers for the city’s hanging baskets and pots will also be supplying baskets, planters, and individual plants for the sale. Varieties will include zinnia, geranium, calla lily, begonia, verbena, petunias and more.

Members are hoping residents will come buy a gift of live flowers, and, at the same time, help with the cost of beautifying the city.
