Herd’s Kerns named to C-USA first team

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — One more honor for Nathan Kerns, and one more he’s waiting on.

Kerns was named to the Conference USA men’s golf first team, the first Marshall Thundering Herd player to earn C-USA honors.

Kerns finished third overall in the conference tournament and was named to the all-tournament first team, the first Herd golfer to as he earn C-USA all-tournament honors.

With awards in hand, Kerns is now awaiting Monday’s NCAA Tournament selections. The top 65-70 teams are chosen along with the best 45 individuals not on any of the qualifying teams. Kerns currently ranks 19th among the 45.

The NCAA Tournament has regionals at six different sites that include Fayetteville, Ark., Baton Rouge, La., Columbus, OH., Tallahassee, Fla., and a site in Washington.
