Greenbo Lake hosting Battle of the Bands July 13

GREENUP, Ky. — Greenbo Lake State Resort Park, in conjunction with the University of Kentucky Extension Fine Arts Program in Greenup County, will present a “Battle of the Bands” July 13 at the park amphitheater, hosted by the local band “Mad Dog Mean.”

The entry fee is $25 per group. One overall winner will be chosen and awarded $500. Bands can register at the Greenup Extension Office, 35 Wurtland Ave, Wurtland, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Deadline for registration is July 5.

All genres of family friendly music are welcome — family friendly, please. Only 20 bands will be accepted — in order of registration. Bands will draw for performance times at 5 p.m. The show starts at 6 p.m.

Each band will play two songs. The winner will be announced at 10:30 p.m. and the event will end at 11 p.m. Judges’ decisions are final.

Admission for audience at the gate is $5. Only performing band members will be given entrance at the stage pass gate. Concessions will be provided by Greenbo Lake State Resort Park.

The sound for the show is sponsored by Precision Orthopedic Inc., and provided by Simply Sound.
