A Wheelersburg man will spend the next decade in prison for robbing a local carryout at gunpoint.

Aaron Pack, 24, of 1144 Mead McNeer Road, was sentenced Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Pack previously entered guilty pleas to charges of first-degree aggravated robbery of Hop’s Carryout in Hanging Rock, second-degree kidnapping and third-degree tampering with evidence.

Judge Charles Cooper sentenced the man to 10 years in prison for the robbery, eight years for kidnapping and three for tampering. The sentences will run concurrently with each other as well as with prison time ordered in Scioto County for a similar incident.

According to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office, Pack forced the attendant of Hop’s, who was outside taking out the trash, back into the store at gunpoint.

Pack also pleaded guilty back in February in Scioto County court to the aggravated robbery of Bailey’s BP in Franklin Furnace and was sentenced to five years in prison and ordered to pay $2,064 in restitution.

In other cases:

• Nicholas Roman, 31, of 832 County Road 15, South Point, pleaded guilty to a fifth-degree count of breaking and entering. Counts of fifth-degree possession of criminal tools and misdemeanor resisting arrest were dismissed.

Cooper sentenced the man to nine months in prison and to pay $85 in restitution, jointly with other co-defendants.

• John Dale Large, 41, of 36 Private Drive 1633 County Road 59, Chesapeake, admitted community control sanctions violations and was sentenced to five months in prison.

• Mark Wiley II, 30, of 60 Township Road was arraigned on a count of second-degree complicity to illegal manufacture of drugs, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Cooper set bond at $25,000 cash, surety or property plus GPS monitoring.

• Jerome Yancey, 32, of 306 Wakefield Court, Huntington, W.Va., admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to 17 months in prison.

• Sara Woomer, 27, of Rural Route 1 Box 138, Mason, W.Va., tested positive for marijuana, oyxcodone and benzodiazepine at her pretrial hearing drug screening. The adult probation department said Woomer had a prescription for the oxycodone.

Cooper added $10,000 to Woomer’s $2,500 bond and scheduled another pretrial for June 5.
