Ladies 9-Hole serves up winners
PINE GROVE — The Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association of the Ironton Country Club met at its regular time on Tuesday with Barb Holmes serving as hostess.
Holmes served refreshments during a brief business meeting conducted by Nancy Livingston. Johnna Jones assumed the co-chairman duties of the Sunshine Committee along with Joyce Fields.
The ladies were reminded that golf scorecards need to be signed with first and last names and kept in the locker for Jim Woods in order to prepare handicaps.
All the members expressed their excitement to see the return of former member Linda Ison.
Holmes chose the events for the prizes of the day and paired the ladies for tee-off. Golf carts headed to various tees were prepared exceptionally well by caretaker Cliff Jenkins and his crew.
Upon returning to the clubhouse, winners were announced during lunch and 12 members enjoyed the meal with a lively conversation. Events were won by Betty Fraley, Sharon Fox and Pat Riggs.
The previous week’s hostess was Jones who provided breakfast treats and announced the following winners: Fields, Becky Dillow, Georgia Willis (two events) and Jones herself.
Next Tuesday’s hostess is Willis.
New members are always welcomed.
Members are reminded the business meeting time has been changed to 9 a.m. with tee time at 10.
