AEP will work on a substation in Ironton starting midnight Saturday until 3 a.m. Sunday.
Ryan Watts, Ironton’s water superintendent, said he was not notified in advance about the upcoming work.
A pump station is in the power grid to be worked on could cause residents to lose water pressure, Watts said.
Watts said the work could affect Ironton residents in the Indian Hills subdivision, Zenith Heights and Ironton water customers along State Route 141.
Watts also said there would be a precautionary boil water advisory issued Sunday as well.
Vikki Michalski, media relations officer with AEP Ohio, said customers in the affected area of Ironton have been notified with a telephone call or message.
