If the weather holds, the Lawrence Street Bridge replacement project could be ahead of schedule.
Today, crews from DGM, of Beaver, are scheduled to pour curbing along Lawrence Street. That work could continue until Tuesday. Forms for the curbing have already been set.
The project to put in a single span concrete box bridge was begun on June 3 with the street and bridge area set to be closed through the beginning of October.
However, that date was revised to the end of August. But could be as early as the week of Aug. 19.
“They should have the paving by the 16th,” said Kathleen Fuller, public information officer for the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 9.
The project, under the supervision of ODOT, cost $916,451 and will raise the bridge five feet to place it out of a flood zone.
After the paving, the only remaining work will be striping the roadway.
