Billy Joe Cremeans

Billy Joe “Bill” Cremeans, 71, of South Point, died June 8, 2013, due to injuries received in an auto accident. Bill was born and raised near the community of Salt Rock in Cabell County, W.Va. He was the son of the late Joseph Lenville and Esther Jewel Cremeans. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 17 years, Barbara Cremeans, and his wife of 27 years, Patsy Cremeans. He was the longtime owner and operator of B&P Transmission in South Point.

Bill is survived by four siblings, Ellen Row of Chillicothe, Lanny Cremeans of Salt Rock, Jeannie Garrido of Huntington, W.Va., and Paul “Bink” Cremeans of Chesapeake.

Bill is also survived by one son, Brian Joe Cremeans, Commerce, Ga.; and three stepsons: Barry Hurula, Texarkana, Texas, Keith Hurula, Proctorville, and Ross Hurula, Texarkana, as well as five grandchildren and one great-grand child.

Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and was an active member of the American Legion. He was a gifted mechanic and Harley-Davidson enthusiast who enjoyed riding with his wife and friends.

A memorial service is planned for Sunday in the chapel of Slack & Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH. Visitation begins at 2 p.m. and service at 3 p.m. with Pastor Larry Perry officiating. A private graveside interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will then be in residence at the Cremeans home, 609 Second St. East in South Point, to receive visitors until 8 p.m.

 

David Hunt

David Eugene Hunt, 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep into the kingdom of our Heavenly Father on the morning of Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Sunset Nursing Home. David was born Jan. 25, 192,8 the son of the late Orland C. Hunt Sr. and Minnie Farris Hunt. He was preceded in death by his first wife Allean Thompson Hunt, sister, Mary Eloise Hunt Radcliffe and two brothers, Robert and James Hunt.

He is survived by his son, David A. Hunt; daughter, Tamara (David) Kisor; grandchildren, John Carter, Brad Kisor, Erica Hunt Lauffer, David Kisor, Greg Kisor and Patrick Kisor; two great grandchildren, Brady Kisor and Addison Kisor; one brother, Orland (Charleen) Hunt, one brother-in-law, Glen Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. David is also survived by his current wife, Margaret Blake Snyder Hunt; and stepdaughters, Debbie (Jeff) Curry and Augusta (Bill) Adkins. He worked at Houdaille Industries and Zerkle Trucking. He loved to work with wood and sold his beautiful crafts around the area. He was a member of the South Point Masonic Lodge and Sybene Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be noon on Tuesday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Kenova, W.Va. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday at the Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home. Condolences may he expressed at www.schneidergriffin.com.

 

Charles Pancake

Charles Robert “Bob” Pancake, 63, of Kitts Hill, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Ky. Arrangements are pending at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point.

 

Thomas Baldridge

Thomas W. Baldridge, 84, of Flatwoods, Ky. died Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Carman Funeral Home. Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Baldridge Family Cemetery. www.carmanfuneral.com.
