After serving refreshments, Riggs followed up with planning the golfing events for the morning and letting the ladies choose their golfing partners for the day.

Following play, Riggs announced the winners: Wanda Spears, Pat Lambert, Joyce Fields and Riggs herself.

The previous week’s meeting was hosted by Fields. While the members enjoyed her refreshments, Lambert conducted a short business meeting and it was announced that the meeting time would change to 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 10

Fields prepared the ladies for tee time and arranged various holes for teeing off.

A few early fall changes were noted on the course despite the humid conditions.

Following play and throughout lunch, winners were announced: Becky Dillow won three events, Joyce Lewis, Nancy Livingston and Fields herself.

Next week’s hostess duties will be performed by Cecilia Woods.

Members are reminded to turn scorecards in on Tuesday in a basket marked in the ladies’ locker room for Jim Woods to tabulate handicaps. Ladies should also continue to post their scores on the Ringer Tournament only on Tuesday mornings.

Brown gets ace
