A woman who recently rejected a plea deal had a change of heart Thursday.
Ashley Kelley, 21, of 2239 Barbeque St., Ashland, Ky., pleaded guilty Thursday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court to a second-degree count of complicity to illegal manufacture of drugs.
Kelley had been given a final plea offer Wednesday and a trial was set to begin Sept. 19.
Judge Charles Cooper sentenced Kelley to four years in prison, a $7,500 fine and a six-month driver’s license suspension.
According to a report from the sheriff’s office, Kelley and four others were arrested after deputies were called to the Lawrence Village Apartments in late July on complaints of a suspicious odor and smoke coming from a window in one of the apartments.
A trial has been set for Patrick Kelley, also of 2239 Barbeque St., who is charged with second-degree illegal manufacture of drugs. The trial is set to begin Oct. 10.
Others who have entered not guilty pleas in the case are Elvis Adkins, 25, of 518 Marion Pike Apt 5, Coal Grove, complicity to illegal manufacture of drugs; Cora Harmon, 22, of 214 Carl Perkins Drive, Ashland, Ky., complicity to illegal manufacture of drugs; and Jessica Robinson, 25, of 1097 County Road 1 Apt 30, South Point, complicity to illegal manufacture of drugs.
