HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Frank Martin is taking another shot at teaching basketball.
Martin — a former Marshall Thundering Herd point guard — has coached at Huntington St. Joseph and he was the D-I Greyhounds youth coach that rose to a No. 6 national ranking.
On Monday he began his Elite Skills Basketball Academy that focuses on developmental and instructional skills as well as training and fitness.
“The academy will teach everyone from beginners on up the correct way to dribble, pass, shoot and all the proper techniques on the court,” said Martin.
The academy is for youths ages 6 and up. It is partnered with The Hit Center’s 10,000-square foot facility located at 2240 Fifth Avenue.
The academy is open on Mondays and Wednesdays. Private lessons and team lessons are available upon request.
Developmental and instructional skills are taught from 4-5 p.m. with training and fitness from 5-8 p.m.
