PROCTORVILLE — The Fairland Lady Dragons are in the Ohio Valley Conference driver’s seat.

The Lady Dragons beat the South Point Lady Pointers Tuesday in five sets, 25-13, 13-25, 25-27, 25-13 and 15-10 in the tiebreaker.

With the win, the Lady Dragons are now 12-4 overall and 8-1 in the OVC volleyball standings. They host River Valley Monday needing a win to take the league title outright. River Valley needs a win to gain a tie for the title.

Mackenzie Riley had 17 points and 15 hits to lead Fairland. Ellen Hinshaw had 11 points, Chandler Fulks scored 10 points, Kelsey Riley had 22 hits and 17 digs and Taylor Perry had 15 digs.

Aundrea Bradburn scored 17 points for South Point.

In the jayvee match, South Point won 25-23, 26-24. Haven Young had 12 poitns and Julie Davis 10 for South Point. Kaylin Huff scored 13 and Allison Shepperd 12 for Fairland.

The “Volley for the Cure” game raised $850 with proceeds to benefit the fight against breast cancer. Lady Dragons’ coach Carrie Rolland expressed her thanks to Brenda Dillon for organizing the activities.
