PEDRO — A key win in the Ohio Valley Conference is at stake when the Coal Grove vs. Rock Hill rivalry is renewed this Friday. But there is also some charity involved as well.

Rock Hill will host the Hornets in their second annual Spielman Gridiron Classic that will collect donations and other money to benefit the Stephanie Spielman Fund that aids in the fight against breast cancer and research.

Angie Wilds got the Rock Hill boosters involved last year and the organization raised more than $5,000 for the foundation.

Any business or individuals who want to make a donation may do so by contacting Wilds at (740) 646-0258. The largest sponsors will serve as honorary team captains for the game.

T-shirts for the evening are available. Sizes S-XL are $12 while 2XL and 3XL are $15. Shirts will be available at Coal Grove High School.

A “Tailgate for a Cure” will begin at 5 p.m. at a cost of $5 per person. Hoagies, hot dogs and chili and beans will be available.

A balloon release will begin at 7 p.m. Donations for each balloon is $1.

There will also be raffles and prizes given away during the tailgate party and game.

Following the game, both teams will be honored with participation trophies and the winning team will select a Most Valuable Player for the game.
