Foothills Art Fest celebrating 32 years

JACKSON — Approximately 500 works of art in seven different categories will be on display this weekend at the 32nd Annual Foothills Art Festival at Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp.

The camp is located five miles north of Jackson, Ohio, off Route 35.

The public is invited to attend the festival from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, as well as from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. There is no admission charge. Parking is free. The lodge is handicapped accessible.

Canter’s Cave is nestled in a hollow and offers hiking trails and breathtaking scenery. After viewing the artwork, visitors can extend his or her day in the countryside by visiting the Sons of Liberty’s pre-Revolutionary War encampment in the lower meadow. Visitors can stroll among the tents, see how people dressed and lived during those times and take plenty of pictures.

Foothills Art Festival offers arts activities for children on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. and live classical music both days from 2 to 4 p.m. Concessions by Canter’s Cave are available, including pumpkin pie.
