Richard Wade

Richard (Jeep) Lee Wade, 77, of Ironton passed away Friday Oct. 18, 2013, at his residence. The Lawrence County native was born March 26, 1936, a son of the late William T. and Martha Quinn Wade.

Richard was a graduate of Ironton High School and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a former conductor and brakeman for the C & O Railroad. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Ironton and lived his whole life in the Ironton area.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Elwood, William B. and Stanley Wade.

He is survived by two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jack and Joanne Wade of Ravenswood, W.Va., and Gerald and Mary Wade of Ravenswood; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Charles Aldridge of Raleigh, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Woodland Cemetery with Pastor Jason Ridgeway officiating. There will be no public visitation. The VFW Post 8850 will be conducting military rites.  To offer condolences to the family please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

Robert Eugene Griffith, 83, of Ironton, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at St Mary’s Medical Center-Ironton Campus. Arrangements are pending at Tracy Brammer Monroe Funeral Home.
