John Foster Jr.
John William Foster Jr., 66, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at his residence. The Lawrence County native was born Dec. 4, 1946, a son of the late John William Foster Sr. and Ida Bennett Foster. He is survived by his wife, Welhelmena Smith Foster, whom he married in 1971.
John was a 1965 graduate of Ironton High School and a graduate of The Ohio State University in secondary education. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was an office manager for Pickett Concrete in Chesapeake and worked maintenance for AK Steel for 40 years, retiring in 2010. He was of the Protestant faith. He was an avid fisherman. He was member of the Scottish Rites, past Master of the Blue Lodge, a Mason, a Shriner, member of Legion of Honor and member of the Knights Templer.
He was preceded in death by (in addition to his parents), mom, Rose Mary Beasley; and grandparents, Ruby and George Foster.
In addition to his wife he is survived by dad, Charles “Wick” Beasley; daughter, Stephanie Lee Foster, of Coal Grove; grandson, Brygham Dillow, of Coal Grove; granddaughter, Brydjette Dillow, of Coal Grove; grandson, Kyle Yerian, of Ironton; daughter, Andrea Dillow, of Ironton; brother-in-law, James H. Smith, of South Point; sister, Sheila Fisher, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sister, Kay Bowman, of Greenville, Tenn; brother-in-law, Harold (Darlene) Smith, of Mansfield; brother-in-law, Bill Smith, of Ironton; aunt, Katy Foster, of Coal Grove; aunt, Catherine Palmer, of Grove City; uncle, Pat Foster, of Columbus; brother, Dr. and Mrs. Richard Beasley, of Lima; brother, Robin (Barbara) Beasley, of Pinkerington; brother, Charles Fred (Cathy) Beasley, of Ironton; sister, Judy Beasley (Kevin Dodson), of Ironton; sister, Debra Hixon, of Ironton; sister, Janet (Ben) Woods, of Westwood; niece, Gina and Peter Blatt, of Palmbeach Gardens, Fla; nephew, John David Garbarini, of Essex, Md.; 21 nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and nephews, 14 great-great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins.

William Moore Jr.
William “Bill” H. Moore Jr., 79, of Chesapeake, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at home. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Burcham Moore. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, by Pastor Mike Triplett. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East, Greenup, Ky. Mary Lintner
Mary Eloise Berg Lintner, 93, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at a local healthcare center. The Lawrence County native was born June 30, 1920, a daughter of the late George Berg and Clara Parker Berg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Lintner.
Mary was a graduate of Ironton High School and Ohio University. She was a former schoolteacher for the Ironton City School district and a homemaker. She was a member of the Immanuel Methodist Church in Ironton and was also a member of the Ironton Garden Club.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Jim and Robert Berg.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Tomie Lintner, of Ironton, and Dan and Carolyn Lintner, of Kitts Hill; three grandchildren, Charlie (Steve) Shelton, of Ironton, Chad Lintner, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Andy (Elizabeth) Lintner, of Kitts Hill; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Tessa Shelton, Lane Lintner and Cate Lintner.
Graveside services will be at noon Tuesday in section 9 of Woodland Cemetery with Steve Shelton officiating. There will be no visitation. Laura “Sue” Payne-LeMaster, 60, of Flatwoods, Ky., died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. There will be a graveside service at 11.a.m. in Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Cribbs Hill Cemetery in Carter County with Pastor Fred Wiles officiating.
