Kathleen Freeman

Kathleen (Kathy) Anderson Freeman, 64, of Ironton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Kentucky. She was born April 27, 1949, in Thacker Mines No. 3 in Williamson, W.Va., to the late Jim and Paulene White Anderson, of Ironton.

Mrs. Freeman attended Dawson-Bryant High School and was a former nurse’s aide for Sunset Nursing Home in Coal Grove. She was a member of the Lick Creek Independent Baptist Church in South Point and was a foster parent to a number of kids foe 12 years, from 1998-2010. She enjoyed doing Sunday rides with her husband and with her kids and grandkids.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Fleming and a brother, Billy Joe Anderson.

She is survived by her husband, Ray (Glen) Freeman; a sister: Deloris (Gail) Grove, of Ashland, Ky.; In addition to her wonderful loving husband, she was also survived by son, Rick (Charlotte) Abrams, of South Point; son, Jim Bo (Becky) Abrams, of Ironton; son, Jerry Abrams, of South Point; daughter, Christy (Mike) Dickess, of Ironton; 13 grandchildren, Nitasha Williams, of Kitts Hill, Ashley Abrams, of Ft. Myers, Fla., Nicole Douglas, of South Point, Jerry Lee Abrams, of Kitts Hill, Zack Abrams and Bryan Bryant, both of Ironton, Amber Abrams of Huntington, W.Va., Jessica Abrams, of Lancaster, Misty Bryant, of Coal Grove, Aaron Dickess, of Ironton, Brittany Abrams, of Ashland, Ky., David Abrams, of South Point, and Tenia Bacon, of South Point

She then had a total of eight great grandchildren, Nathan, Nick, Olivia and Kylie Abrams, of Kitts Hill, Asher Littlejohn, of Symmes Valley, Joey Williams and Brigham Russell, of Kitts Hill, Reagan Dickess, of Kitts Hill, and Sara McQuaid, of South Point, a special child in her life

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Burnett officiating. Mildred Newman

Mildred Newman, 84, of Proctorville, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House Huntington, W.Va. Funeral service will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home by Pastor Randy See. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery Proctorville. Ronald Gothard

Ronald Harrison Gothard, 65, of South Point, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at his residence. The Huntington, W.Va., native was born Oct. 5, 1948, the son of the late Carlos Okey Gothard and Genevieve Caroline Pickens. He is survived by his wife, Rebekah Starr Morrison Gothard, whom he married Aug. 3, 1991.

Mr. Gothard graduated from Barboursville High School and received his bachelor’s degree in bsiness from Century College in Huntington. He was a self-mployed carpenter and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Huntington. He loved teaching children how to do things such as read, write and repair things. He was very handy with tools and enjoyed doing repairs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two half brothers, David Price and Ray Price.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by stepmother, Betty Gothard, of Huntington; son, Ronald H. Gothard II, of Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law Rhonda J. and Dwayne S. Harmon, of Chillicothe; daughter and son-in-law Andrea J. and Ray Ford, of South Point; daughter and son-in-law Dawna M. and Patrick Smith, of South Point; 13 grandchildren, Jacob A. Gothard, Olivia A. Gothard, Tanner S. Harmon, Zoe E. Harmon, David A. Chaney Jr., Zachary T. Morrison, Mackenzie S. Morrison, Austin S. Smith, Steven T. Smith, Daniel K. Smith, JoAnna D. Smith, Jayden E. Smith and Baby Ford; one great-granddaughter, Madalyn EM Gothard; three adopted grandchildren, Joshua Sisler, Jennifer Sisler and Jonathan Menendez; brothers, Carl E. Gothard, of Cincinnati, Kermit L. Gothard, William J. Gothard, Rick Gothard, Roger Gothard and James Gothard, all of Huntington; half sister, Loretta Roten, of Huntington; mother-in-law Velda J. Morrison, of Huntington; and friends Janette Sisler, of South Point and Mary Ball, of Gallipolis.

David Mullins

David Lee Mullins, 62, of Avon Park, Fla., formerly of Carter County, Ky., died on Thursday Oct. 24, 2013, at his residence in Avon Park. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky. Burial will follow in Coalton Community Cemetery in Rush, Ky. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of funeral on Wednesday.
