Margaret Johnson

Margaret Ann (Whaley) Johnson, 82, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at Jo-Lin Health Center in Ironton. The Ironton native was born Feb. 13, 1931, a daughter to the late Ray and Minnie (Cablish) Whaley. Mrs. Johnson was also preceded in death by her husband Ralph P. Johnson, who passed away in February of 1985.

Mrs. Johnson was a 1949 graduate of Ironton High School.

Margaret is survived by two sons, Paul (Phyllis) Johnson of Fleming Island, Fla., and Ken Johnson of Ironton; six grandchildren, Allison (Kip) Koerper of Ironton, Brad (Courtney) Johnson of Columbus, Matt (Jennifer) Johnson of Hoover, Ala., Kandas Johnson of Ashland, Ky., Kendra Johnson of Burlington and Nick (Shelby) Johnson of South Point; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Ruth) Whaley of Proctorville and Thomas (Marie) Whaley of Ironton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret is preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Johnson; a sister, Evelyn Higgins; and a brother, Raymond Whaley.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodland Cemetery with Brother Steve Falls officiating.

Pallbearers will be Paul Johnson, Ken Johnson, Kip Koerper, Brad Johnson, Matt Johnson and Nick Johnson.

Effie Mills

Effie M. Mills, 85, of Proctorville, died on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at home. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Proctorville by Pastor Jeff Black, Pastor Mike Smith and Pastor Duane Smith. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville is in charge of arrangements.
