A Coal Grove man who allegedly assaulted his father, thinking he was a robot, was found not competent to stand trial.
Based on a report from Court Clinic Forensic Services, Kenneth Corbin, 27, of 302 Washington St., will undergo treatment to determine if he can be restored to competency.
The order was presented in Judge D. Scott Bowling’s court on Wednesday.
Corbin, represented by attorney Warren Morford, pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity in October for two second-degree counts of felonious assault.
According to a police report, Corbin assaulted his father with a razor blade, as well as the officer who responded to the incident.
“I stabbed him to make sure he wasn’t a robot,” Corbin said of his father, according to the report.
