Collins Career Center will expand its curriculum at the start of next year, as the school will offer new classes to its students.

The new programs are broken down into different pathways to allow students the opportunity to earn multiple certifications at the same time.

“The new classes are organized into pathways that can lead to multiple certifications,” said Andrea Zaph, head of the patient care and phlebotomy departments. “These additions allow for increased flexibility in meeting the needs of our students.”

The new classes in the fields of clinical medical assisting, patient care technician, and phlebotomy will begin Jan. 6 and Zaph says she expects the additions to add to enrollment at the school.

“Our hope is to see an increase in enrollment in the patient care technician and medical assisting programs,” Zaph said. “These new opportunities should allow our students to find employment in our area.”

CCC had input from its clinical affiliates at Southern Ohio Medical Center and the St. Mary’s Medical Center in the creation of the new pathways. For more information on these programs you can contact Zaph at zaphra@collins-cc.edu.
