Flyers fall to PND in opener, 48-37

PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Notre Dame Titans started the season by starting their first game well and went on to beat the St. Joseph Flyers 48-37 Saturday.
The Titans jumped in front 13-5 in the first quarter and built a 33-17 lead at the half.
St. Joseph (0-1) managed to slice the lead to 40-28 at the end of the third quarter but couldn’t keep up the pace in the fourth quarter.
Wulf Goheen scored 11 points and Troy Scott added 7 points to lead the Flyers.
C.J. Smith scored 12 points and Trevon Turner 10 to pace the Titans’ offense. Daniel Ogg had 7 rebounds.
