Linda Fraley
Linda Jean Swango Fraley, 55, of Ironton, passed away Friday Nov. 29, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. The Fort Knox, Ky. native was born Dec. 17, 1957, a daughter of George Jefferson Swango of Beaver, and Emma Jean Mitchell Swango of Pedro.
Linda was a 1975 graduate of Symmes Valley High School and attended the Ironton City Mission Church. She was a lab tester for Marathon Petroleum Company with 37 years of service. She enjoyed sewing and loved her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Swango; grandparents, Dempsey and Nora Mitchell and two brothers-in-law, Frank McCown and Manuel Wilson.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband of 29 years, Gary Fraley whom she married July 20, 1984; three sons, Gary Allen and Nicole Fraley of Ashland, Ohio, Shawn and Michelle Fraley of Fairborn, and J.D. and Tracy Fraley of Ironton; four daughters, Kim and T.J. Howard of Ironton, Angie Fraley and Martin Spurlock of Huntington, W.Va., Annie and Jason Cutlip of Ironton, and Lily Fraley of Ironton; five sisters, Ruth Langer of Pedro, Amy Wilson of Jonesborough, Tenn., Nora (K.C.) Stanger of Loveland, Ella (Greg) Jones of South Point, and Terri (Darren) Baker of Proctorville; a brother, Garry (Bertha) Swango of Lexington, Ky.; 15 grandchildren, Alexis, Parker, Isabella, Lindsay, Treston, Tyler, Ashlie, Whitney, Kelsey, Aries, Ellie, Garrett, Blake, Owen and Austyn; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the City Mission Church, with Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Bradshaw Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 6 until 9 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Linda’s name to the City Mission Church, 710 N. Fifth St., Ironton, OH, 45638.
