Spotlight on ‘good’ in community
Published 10:07 am Tuesday, December 3, 2013
Sometimes readers perceive newspaper articles, editorials, letters to the editor or columns as focusing on the negative things happening in our communities.
But the newspaper is essentially only a reflection of the community. Although some news can be viewed as negative, positive things are happening across Lawrence County.
Many good things are happening throughout the county and region, whether a new business is moving into your community, or your local sports team has a successful season. We want to hear about those occasions and share them with our readers.
Starting Dec. 31, and each Tuesday following, The Tribune editorial board will spotlight some of the great happenings that reflect the positive activities occurring in our communities.
We want Tribune readers to get involved in the editorial process.
Submissions can be emailed to editorial@irontontribune.com beginning Dec. 16.
It is important to show the great things happening around Lawrence County and the surrounding region. In many ways, we all must change the mindsets of those around us so that we do not take positive progress for granted and ignore things for which we should all be proud.
